Please tell
us what you are seeking in this market, and how we can serve you better. We
openly share extensive market research worldwide with no
obligation to register, but we welcome feedback to guide the continuous
improvement of our website and services.
For help with specific research or project interests,
please just call or e-mail us as above. We are
independent
advisors - not a government program or privately funded economic development agency or investment promotion
agency.
We may already know where to find what you need, or can
readily find it for you, so our work is not limited to the extensive website content and links
or the contacts identified in the directories. |
The new custom Google site search features at
www.OnTheShortList.com are
repeated above for convenience.
We welcome relevant
reciprocal links and suggestions for improvement or new resources to
share, such as information and links for business location selection and
professional services, including news of major project announcements (>50
jobs created). We are also testing
Google Groups and other new
technologies. This should develop new ways to support open,
collaborative sharing of local market knowledge and professional experience
to help companies develop their capital investment projects faster and
better. |
|
Our 7 year
analysis of
investment project trends by state and our analysis of
economic development lead generation costs
per job created may also be of interest. Other market research was
presented by fDi magazine and consultants at IEDC in September 2006.
Copies are available to download. |
Our
April 2006 newsletter (4 pages
with graphs) summarizes this market research and analysis, including a 12
year chart of major project announcements. |

Executives
: Please help us to shape our market research priorities
according to your current and expected interests so that we can share
timely information privately with you as appropriate according to your
communication preferences. Tell us as much as you wish about your
interests in a simple email or phone call.
Call Bruce Donnelly at 847-304-4655 (Chicago) or
send an e-mail to suggest any business locations, services, or other
topics which you would like us to research. We can then inform you as
you choose (mail, fax, e-mail, or phone) whenever we have significant new
information to share on the topics of specific interest to you. |

We welcome voluntary contributions to support our independent research
and referral work. This is not a charity, non-profit, or
government-supported service. It is a private business with a social
purpose, earning fees through successful work to create a more efficient
market for the benefit of the executives, economic development
organizations, and professionals we serve. Donations
of $5 to $50 can be made through the Amazon Honor System as above.
This is like giving a tip to thank a concierge for providing a professional
service, except that Amazon collects such donations anonymously for us to
protect the privacy of our visitors.
Please note that the Amazon Honor System does not accept
payments above $50, and only accepts US-based credit card accounts for
payments at this time. For larger or international contributions, or to discuss specific
work we can do for your benefit, please
Contact Us.
Donations are processed securely and in confidence.
We receive no information about the donor unless the donor contacts us
separately to inform us. Donations are limited to payments of $1 to $50 by US
credit cards, which are processed securely by Amazon.com as for their other
types of transactions - so we do not receive any personal information. |
We now reach roughly 550,000 visitors per year by doing
work to support their interests. Even small donations add up to help us
sustain and improve such free services for our visitors. |
| We can perform private market research work as a
special project when appropriate, but if you just inform us about your expected interests, we
can use that knowledge to guide our future research work and encourage relevant
areas and service providers to share even more information through this channel than
is possible with our own research resources. Aside from our
ability to perform
custom research work, we can provide referrals or work with other research
professionals. We can help to organize shared research projects
according to the special interests of a group of executives or service providers.
This can provide a more efficient way to perform custom research which would
interest more than one company.
|
For example, if we know that 10 companies want to get
much better information about the business investment climate in a
particular region, we can develop a proposal to perform such research work
as a shared service for all 10 companies, so that the cost to each is much
less. This can provide better shared research work than one
company alone could justify. |
