not intended to show all details of Florida and South Carolina in the US Southeast region. They may be
reorganized in the future to improve access speeds or provide better details
about participating areas, but it is assumed that most websites of area
representatives will contain more detailed map information, so it need not
be repeated here. These maps make it easier for executives to browse and
to link graphically to GUIDE Area Profiles or Reports and the related
websites about an area. The links can reflect responsibilities which
may sometimes overlap, as in the case of a multistate utility service area,
or a regional agency serving multiple counties, or a metro area within
multiple counties or states.

In particular, since many US economic development organizations operate
at the local county or city level, and may have unfamiliar names, this
process is intended to make it much easier for executives to identify
participating areas of potential interest, and details about their areas.
As can be seen from the tables of Participants and other contacts, many of
the organizational or website names might be hard to identify by other
means, such as through Internet search engines or alphabetical directory
listings which don't clearly identify the scope of services offered to
investors or the areas which are served by the organizations. This
provides a graphical shortcut to find any participating area of interest
very quickly and easily.
Although non-participating areas may also be listed in the tables of
contacts, and can be found on these maps, we don't provide links from the
maps because of the work involved since there are literally thousands of
such organizations, often involving overlapping areas of service.
