Scope of investment support services offered

We assist businesses with also every aspect of the project - site selection, incentive assistance (from explaining to completing applications and working with them on the compliance paperwork), guide them through the proper channels for permitting, introducing them to other professionals who can assist them with their project needs. We can even serve as the collection point for potential suppliers to a project and can work with the employer and the Department of Labor to put into place a screening process that will ensure the employer gets the right employee out of the hundreds of applicants.

Competitive advantages of the area for potential investors

Many of these employers have told us they have expanded due to the productivity of our workforce and the cooperative spirit of the local governmental bodies. Additionally, we are hearing this from the new companies choosing our area - Central Louisiana provides a quality, trainable workforce in a business friendly proactive environment.

Other organizations supporting direct investment in the area

We have formed the Central Louisiana Economic Development Alliance (CLEDA) - it is a public Private Partnership comprised of the Cities of Alexandria and Pineville, the Rapides Parish Police Jury, The England Authority, The Port of Alexandria, and the Greater Alexandria Economic Development Authority.

Together with the private donors of the Chamber's Economic Development Advisory Council and through a contract with the State of Louisiana's Department of Economic Development, the professional staffs of these organizations work throughout the region.
