Whoever
said you can't have everything never lived in Iowa
Every year, hundreds of people come to Iowa and discover something they
can't find anywhere else: balance. The kind of balance you can enjoy when
you're able to meet not only your career objectives, but your family and
lifestyle objectives as well. Some are people who grew up in Iowa and
attended one of the state's exceptional colleges and universities, then
moved away to begin their careers. Some learn of the state through a
relative or close friend. Others simply move to Iowa for a fresh start.
What all of these people find when they make Iowa home is a genuinely great
place to live, work, play and raise a family. They find a place where their
neighbors are friendly and their commutes are short. A place where quality
public education isn't just a dream, but a reality. A place of vibrant
cities with shopping and entertainment possibilities. A place of endless
outdoor recreational opportunities. Iowa is all of this and more. Iowa is
life | changing. |

| For
those living in some of America's larger metropolitan areas, life in Iowa
may come as a shock. But don't worry. You'll adapt. Before you know it,
you'll be accustomed to all the things that make living in Iowa more
enjoyable. Like waking up later every morning because your commute to work
is shorter. Living in a bigger house (or making lower house payments).
Seeing your children excel in school. Or paying lower auto insurance
premiums. You'll get used to the fact that wherever you live, you're only a
10-minute drive from the countryside. The life you'll become accustomed to
in Iowa is one that is lauded in national surveys year in and year out. For
example, the Annie E. Casey Foundation named Iowa the 5th-best place to
raise a child, and Morgan Quitno called Iowa the nation's 4th-most-livable
state. Maybe the exceptional quality of life found in Iowa isn't what you're
used to
presently. But it is what you deserve. |

in life, you have to make sacrifices.
Or live in Iowa.
As it turns out, you can have your cake and eat it, too. You can have the
career you went to school and trained for. And you can have an enjoyable
lifestyle made possible by working in the close proximity of good schools
for your children and numerous entertainment and recreational opportunities

expanding rapidly in the sectors of life sciences and biosciences, advanced
manufacturing, information solutions and financial services. Such leading
companies as Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.; Deere and Company;
Rockwell Collins, Inc.; Principal Financial Group; TransOva Genetics; Wells
Fargo; Professional Computer Systems; Wells' Dairy, Inc.; and AEGON are
experiencing growth and creating outstanding career opportunities for
Iowans.
And considering that Iowa is committed to creating an
environment where business can thrive, the future looks very good. So get to

Iowans know
entertainment and recreation inside and out.
You could think of Iowa as two major rivers (the Missouri and the
Mississippi) with a giant playground in between. Iowa's terrain accommodates
nearly every form of recreation from downhill skiing and hiking to bicycling
on well-paved paths or off-road trails. Anglers revel in the state's
abundant sports fisheries, and hunters enjoy some of the nation's finest
pheasant and white-tail deer hunting. And you don't have to seek the great
outdoors to encounter great entertainment. Iowa city streets may take you to
an open-air farmers market or to a world premiere ballet. You may thrill to
major college sporting events at one of the state's showcase stadiums, or
enjoy a symphony orchestra in one of Iowa's posh concert halls. From
challenging 18-hole golf courses and thoroughbred racing excitement to
superb dining and shopping, there's no end of things to see and experience
in Iowa. So live a little. And do a lot. |
