Mayor, City of Flora, IL
Charles Crowder is an actively pro-business Mayor in southern
Illinois. Flora has a business friendly work environment.
Charlie says the "City of Flora is very business
pro-active in negotiating with industry and retail businesses". It is
not unusual for him to personally contact corporate executives and business
advisors to introduce himself and the City as a place to do business, and to
become actively engaged in the process to win new retail and industrial
projects in the community.

Prior Business Experience
Mayor Crowder worked 35 years for Dowell Division of Dow
Chemical, in engineering, management and sales. Charlie retired from
the executive sales group in Dallas, TX.. Dowell is now part of
Schlumberger (it was a joint venture with Dow
from 1960, acquired in 1984). It specializes in pumping services for
the oil industry.
In addition to his duties as Mayor, Charlie and partners
operate Crowder & Associates, Inc. an independent oil and gas exploration
and producing company.
