IndustryWeek magazine publishes a "Best Plants Award" feature in July and October, and organizes events with the winners. It also recognizes major projects selectively through a regular "Location" column and other feature articles. This section highlights the plant location of over a decade of such award-winning operations.

Archived articles and lists describing past winners are available for reference through their website at : www.industryweek.com . The listings indicate whether the plant was unionized at the time, and provide contacts which may have changed. Their articles describe the operations and the reason for selection.

The list below will provide cross-reference links to sources of information about the areas in which these "best plants" are located, which may be helpful to executives who want to know more about such business locations for their own investment purposes, or reach the local area representatives who handle investment promotion and support existing investors. For example, the executives at such plants may participate in their local Chambers of Commerce or economic development organizations, or may have been assisted by them as they developed their operations. For the company contacts and descriptions, refer to the award articles as archived on the IndustryWeek website.

This service is just provided for the convenience of the executives and advisors we serve. We do not endorse their selections, or the areas involved as a location for future projects. We're just trying to make it easier to connect knowledge about award-winning manufacturing operations to the areas where they operate and the economic development organizations which support potential investors in those areas. Investors should still do their own "due diligence" work about doing business in these areas. These plants are not necessarily new or recently expanded ones.
