The cities listed below were announced
on April 23, 2007 as the top selections among small cities in Canada
(less than 500,000 population) in the 2007/2008 North American Cities of the
Future competition as featured in the April/May 2007 issue.
fDi magazine is
published by the Financial Times group (FT
Business). Some awards will be presented during the
BIO 2007 convention in Boston on May 7.
The table below summarizes the Top 10 overall rankings of
small Canadian cities among all North American competitors, as well as the
Top Five rankings on individual selection factors which were used as
weighted scores to select the overall winners.

There were nominations from 108 cities of all sizes from the
United States, Canada, and Mexico for this very competitive business
location benchmarking and "short list" selection process involving nine
months of research work and independent expert review of more than 60 facts
provided by the nominated cities. This 2007 award
program is similar to the cover feature of the
June/July 2005 issue of fDi - Foreign Direct Investment magazine.
