The maps below facilitate navigation to regional directories
of economic development contacts worldwide.
Click on any map to link to
the relevant directory, or refer to Directories.
The directories often include links to more detailed maps for specific
areas. Refer also to our
North American Location Guide map and
directory, which are being prepared in cooperation with fDi magazine
in 2007 as it launches the new fDi Atlas
online research tool.
We welcome suggestions to guide our research, or to share
additional sources of information and support services for capital
investment project planning worldwide beyond the 20,000+ links we already
provide. We also provide various custom search tools and other
research services through
www.OnTheShortList.com

These regional maps are provided for ease of
reference and navigation. Mapping features may be added to this
website in the future to make it easier to navigate quickly to
content about participating areas, or to help visualize the relationships
between areas for planning purposes.
Our US state
directories include links to maps to help recognize where counties are located
since many economic development organizations represent counties whose names
would be unknown to executives in other regions, even if major cities within
the state are familiar. The directories are organized in postal zip
code order, which usually keeps nearby areas together.
Try the new
fDi Atlas for
sponsored executive summary presentations about locations. |

More detailed maps are available for
US regions,
Mexico, Canada,
China,
Brazil, the
UK and Ireland, other leading
countries of Europe, plus
Japan, Korea,
Southeast Asia,
Australia
and other areas. Similar maps are linked from directories and
presentations about local areas. Some maps include "hot spot"
links to other maps or content about business locations. |
More sophisticated
GIS mapping applications are sometimes used in location analysis work to visualize demographics,
logistics, or other data. We can introduce professionals who know how
to do such work, but we don't provide such GIS services
through this website. Some of the
economic development websites use GIS tools to present data or available
properties. |
