Contact us directly for specific proposals. The
Order Form (Adobe PDF file, two pages) outlines current
service pricing. As more organizations participate, we can drive down the cost because the work becomes more efficient. |
Please
reply to the
GUIDE Network Survey about your area.
Replies can also be
published through this website for reference by investors and their
advisors. The annual fee to publish replies just covers the website work involved
to make replies easy to find. |

The GUIDE Area Profile is included in any proposals for the
more comprehensive services (SICR marketing work, Professional Site
Selection Tour, Area Report). The Area Profile is a
fast and easy way to start. It takes about a week of work, plus some
periodic follow-up contact throughout the year, to organize an effective
executive summary presentation about an area with links to information of
common interest to investors and their advisors. Profiles are featured
in various ways to make them very easy to find when relevant. |
Participation in the
GUIDE
Network Survey process is a fast and easy first
step toward any more active participation in our other services.
Please e-mail your reply to the few questions. It
shouldn't take long to respond. If you wish to participate in any of our
larger services, we encourage you to
send us the GUIDE Network Survey response as a first step, so that we will
have better knowledge about your area to start sharing quickly.

| Driving
down the cost of economic development marketing
The fundamental idea behind our work is to drive down the high "cost per
job" of investment attraction work by communities. When areas are
promoted on an "exclusive" basis, that duplicates a lot of effort and
expense. This business is designed to be a more efficient distribution
channel or marketplace as a "shared service" to benefit many areas and
service providers while providing valuable referral assistance to executives
and their advisors.
We can introduce executives to relevant locations, but
obviously we cannot control where they may choose to invest at the
conclusion of their location selection process. Our role is to make it
easier for relevant locations to be considered fairly and contacted directly
about the potential benefits of their area for a specific project.
The average cost per job for our services among all
participants should therefore decline significantly over time as the market
reach and referral
capability of GDI Solutions improves, but there will always be variances
among individual participants in any given interval of time because of the
diversity of the locations and projects we serve, and the
unpredictable impact of general economic conditions for investors. |
General Principles Behind Our Service Pricing
Participation is generally on a fixed fee basis according to an agreed
payment schedule as work is performed. Service prices
reflect the estimated total cost of the professional time required to do
such work well, including all the related expenses or "overheads".
Details of pricing are shared through specific service proposals, but in
general are intended to be very consistent among all comparable
participants. Our goal is to keep the costs down for everyone by
developing a more efficient "distribution channel" for marketing areas..
We will not generally enter into success fee agreements with areas unless
we are fairly confident of our ability to make successful referrals soon, as
in the case of potential projects which our prior work has already
identified. In effect, this is another way to link fees to expected
results, and ensure that non-participating areas do not inappropriately
benefit from the prior investment commitments of those who have already
supported our work.
