of services to potential investors in a service area varies, and would be

contacts, as resources of potential interest to investors.
The focus of this list is on utilities which invest in significant economic
development support programs to assist potential investors within their
service regions, as may be elaborated by GUIDE Service Profiles or Reports
summarizing the specific scope of their capabilities.

This list reflects only some of the available contacts. Additional
contacts may be found through associations and
publishers, including the UEDA (below) and Touchstone Energy / NRECA. Note that some
utilities do not maintain special programs to promote economic development,
but they will generally know the local economic development leaders in the
communities they serve.
The list is not limited to North America
even though most of the initial listings are in North America because of the
very active role which such utilities take in economic development and
investment promotion within their service areas. |

Touchstone Energy Cooperatives provides a commercial and industrial real
estate property listing service,
SitesAcrossAmerica.com, to promote business sites and buildings in
their service areas nationwide. They serve 75% of the United States as
a network of more than 900 local electric utility systems in 46 states for
electric distribution or generation and transmission.
The property listings include industrial parks, buildings,
and "shovel-ready" properties as well as demographics such as community work
force and population statistics. Searches can be performed by postal
zip code, area code, city, state, acreage, square footage, and price. |
Aquila has
also developed a property listing service,
www.LocationOne.com , which is used
by communities in several Midwest states. Individual
utilities may also maintain listings of industrial properties in their
service territories, or the indicated contacts are likely to be able to find
such information quickly on request according to specific investment project
requirements. |
