Cat Logistics maintains over 70 distribution centers worldwide, with the
global network of telecommunications, information management, and
international transportation systems to support businesses anywhere.
Established as a subsidiary in 1987, Cat Logistics builds upon the core
logistics expertise which was developed over decades to meet the needs of
Caterpillar as the world's largest manufacturer of construction and mining
equipment, diesel and natural gas turbines and industrial gas turbines.
Today, much of the work is for other prominent clients, as shown by the
examples below, across a variety of industries.
There is special expertise is in service parts logistics for accurate and
on-time parts delivery, anywhere in the world. The services generally
do not focus on other types of logistics programs, such as the distribution
of high volume consumer products into retail channels.
The industrial heritage of Caterpillar is reflected in the inventory
management systems to achieve high service levels for parts availability
within tight constraints to minimize the investment per item while achieving
rapid and economical delivery to clients on a global basis. |
