| Executive Summary
Site Selection magazine has provided location assistance to
companies since 1954. Among the annual features are periodic ranking
reports such as the "Governor's Cup", which compares the total number of
investment projects won by US states. This is also related to stories
about the "top projects" each year, and various industry sector reports.
They also publish an annual directory issue with lists of economic
development agencies such as their many advertisers.
Site Selection is published by Conway Data, which has also organized a new
association, IAMC - the Industrial Asset Management Council. The
first IAMC Professional Forum was in Savannah GA, Oct. 27-30, 2002.
IAMC is an association of industrial asset management executives
such as corporate real estate or facilities managers,
their suppliers and service providers, and economic developers. It
provides a forum for seminars and professional networking.
Conway Data was formerly known for leadership in the creation and management
of IDRC, which in 2002 merged with NACORE to become
CoreNet Global.
Site Selection magazine is now the official publication of IAMC, rather than
CoreNet Global, for which Conway Data no longer handles event
management services.
Conway Data also maintains a project tracking database, mainly about
investments announced in the US. It works with other organizations for
data about European project announcements, as reported in the magazine and
e-mail broadcasts.
