| Participation in
the service is a very simple and free, ongoing "key account" relationship
through which GDI Solutions functions as a sort of "hot line" or "one-stop
shop". One relationship leader introduces relevant contacts or information sources
as well as individualized research to address the needs of the responsible
executives.
To be effective, the foundation of this service
is the development of close and trusted working relationships among top
executives to better understand and anticipate their needs.
One professional at GDI Solutions
becomes the primary contact point for the support of any project plans,
anywhere, by any of the responsible executives at the company. That
relationship leader maintains sufficiently frequent contact to respond to current company
needs, and should also know enough about prospective changes at the company to
anticipate and prepare to meet future support needs.
The role
of this leader at GDI Solutions isn't to try to know
everything about every potential issue or business location, but rather to
understand the needs of the business and know how to apply the networks of
contacts and do research work to help meet those needs.
The main commitment by corporate
participants is simply to invest the necessary executive time and trust to
develop a useful working relationship by maintaining periodic and candid
contact among the key executives about their current and prospective investment project
needs. This enables GDI Solutions to add value by offering helpful suggestions,
research work, and introductions on a regular basis, and makes a rapid and
effective "Hot Line" response to urgent support needs possible.

If the executive chooses to allow disclosure of
a working relationship with GDI Solutions, then it can also be easy for
anyone (including executives within the company who may be unaware of the
relationship) to quickly identify the responsible relationship leader at GDI
Solutions, as illustrated in the section on
Corporate Participants. This
creates a sort of "One-Stop Shop" in the other direction, because area
representatives and professional service providers may become aware that a
working relationship exists between the company and GDI Solutions, without
revealing any specific project plans.
They can therefore approach the indicated relationship leader, rather
than all the company executives, and we can introduce them to the right
executive if appropriate, or explain why it is not appropriate to meet at
that time without revealing company plans.
If the executive agrees that it is appropriate to disclose a project
openly for some reason, such as to address difficult information needs,
that would be found in the Projects section,
whether by name or anonymously.
In this manner, needless enquiries to executives can be averted
as outlined in the sections on the typical "rumor
mill" challenges of major projects |
